Sunday Morning Worship January 24th 2021

24 January 2021 glyn

Welcome to our Sunday morning worship – today we are looking at our share in God’s family, as Luke expresses it in Jesus’ family tree. We begin by singing to our great God: “How great Thou art …”

Now let’s pray:

Have you ever traced your family tree? Two of the gospel writers, Matthew and Luke, were keen to trace Jesus’ family tree and share with us the details of their researches. Inn the video below Glyn and Debbie read some of that and what Jesus thought about who belonged to his family:

Matthew 12:46-50

46 While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. 48 But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 And stretching out his hand towards his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Let’s sing ….

Talk by Glyn – A share in the family.

Here’s an audio version of the talk:

We bring our prayers to God for the church and the world:

And let’s say together this prayer by our Elder Ann Richards:

Dear Lord the last 12 months have been a restless time, with
everything changing so often, we ask you to calm our troubled hearts
and give us peace. As we move towards the Holocaust Memorial Day we
remember that not only do we have to fight the results of natural
disasters, floods, earthquakes and the virus but Man’s inhumanity to
Man. The world cannot always give us Peace but Lord with your infinite
love we can try and create a more perfect and peaceful world however
hard it is to do. Amen

Our closing song of praise:

We close by saying the grace together:

Snow doubt about it .....

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16
