Welcome to our Sunday morning worship. This week we’ll be thinking about Jonah 2 and the prophet’s time in the “big fish” – but first, as always and as Jonah himself did, we are going to sing God’s praises:
Now let’s turn to God in prayer:
Last week we left Jonah as he was being hurled from the ship into the storm. We pick up the story at Chapter 2:
Let’s read together Psalm 121:
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and for evermore.

We close with another song with a nautical theme, much loved by those who are or have been associated with the Boy’s Brigade:
And now let’s say the Blessing for each other:
