Prayer Group

chapel-tableThe Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29 versus 11-14 that if we pray and seek the Lord He will listen to us and we will find Him. “for I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and PRAY to Me and I WILL listen to you. You will seek Me …. and I will be found by you.

“If any of you should ask me for an epitome of the Christian religion,

I should say that it is in one word – prayer.

Live and die without prayer, and you will pray long enough when you get to hell.
-Charles Spurgeon-

Our daily conversation with God is of the most profound importance, our fellowship with him in our prayers is one of the great treasures of the Christian life. Much of that must happen individually and in private, but it is good for Christians to pray together.

Our prayer before each sermon:

Lord Jesus, your sign of reconciliation is the cross
in all its breadth and length and height and depth.
Teach us to share it with you and with our sisters and brothers,
so that we may learn to act justly, walk humbly, love tenderly,
and so, waiting upon the Spirit, become instruments of your peace, to the glory of God the Father.

-The Hengrave Prayer-
